The Fair

We went to the fair this weekend and had a great time eating lots of yummy fair food and looking at all the different animals. Brody had a good time and liked to look at the animals. It was very cute to see his reaction when we first saw them he immediately started making animal noises and did not stop until we left that area. However there was a ball in the pig pin and instead of looking at the pigs, all he would focus on was the ball. He even got to try some of my pineapple whip which he loved and licked up every last bite. (It was his first time to try ice cream since now he is on whole milk.)

I am pretty sure he could of stayed in this area all night.... and if it wasn't for the lovely smell we just might of. :)

Ja and I got a pineapple whip and Brody had a cow when he saw us eating it and he wasn't!! So I let him try some of mine and he loved it! He would take a lick and look at me like... thanks mom! Hey we were at the fair, it would be unfair of us not to let him try some of the food!! :)

**Brody started drinking whole milk a little early (docs orders) so that he could get some more milk. He just started this week.**

Amy and Eric came to visit us this past weekend. We had a lot of fun shopping, making Brody's birthday invitations, going to the park and celebrating Amy's birthday. Brody had a good time chasing around Laney (their dog) and saying "ruf ruf" every time she was around. It was very cute because last time he had seen Laney, Brody was not to sure about her. :)* We had a good time at the park and enjoyed watching Brody enjoy being outside.

Man oh man!! Brody is now 11 months old!! He is on the go and getting into anything and everything. It is so cute when he does something he knows he is not supposed to! When we come up to him and say no no Brody.... he will either try to run the other way or try to "hide" under one of our coffee tables. It is so cute and I always have a hard time looking stern and not laughing when he does this!!!

He loves to walk and is getting pretty fast at it! He likes for us to chase him or play peek-a-boo with him. I would say his favorite toy or thing to do right now is read a book! He loves to sit down and look at a book where he can touch something soft or open and shut different flaps that are on a page. :)*

He likes to listen to his music and it always puts him in a better mood when he is just a little fussy. In fact if you asked me what my favorite song is right now, I would have to say... "I'm a Little Tea Pot", or "Baby Bumblebee" :)* because that is all I ever listen to anymore! :)

He is the joy of our lives!

Monday morning Play Group

My friend Julia told me about this play group that she goes to on Monday mornings with her daughter. So I thought Brody and I should go and check it out. He loved it and had a great time playing with different toys and other boys and girls. He even shared a car with another little boy and pushed it back and forth to him... with only a little bit of help form me. :) His favorite thing to do was slide, however I could not get any pics of him on it because I was holding his hand while he was sliding down. :) He even did a good job sitting down and singing songs at the end even though there were balls near by. :) We had a great time and can't wait to go back next week!!

Football Fun

Friday night we took Brody to his first high school football game. The weather was perfect.... a little cool but that is how every football game should be! I was a little concerned about how he would do but he did great! I don't really think he watched much of the game but he loved being outside.

Brody... "mom can I go out there and play.... please they have a ball and I really want to go and get it!"

A day at the park!

Brody loves books, especially the touch and feel kind. He has this one that has many different animals where you can feel their fur while learning about the animal. He always loves the one of the cat and trys to say meow after I say it. So it was not a surprise that he wanted to pet Aunt Holly and Uncle Ryan's cats when we went over there. It was so cute! He would walk right up to them and try to pet them. (this is his first time to be around cats...I am allergic, so no cats in our house) Finney was very interested in Brody but did not quite know what to think about this little person chasing him around. However he finally gave in (with a little bit of Holly's help) and let Brody pet him. Brody was really interested in the tail because of how it moved. However Finney really did not like his tail being pulled and decided enough was enough. :) It was very cute to see!!

Walking

BRODY IS WALKING!!

Well can you believe it?!?! Brody Ja is 10 1/2 months old and walking!! He is now walking everywhere and is getting pretty good at it. He had been testing the waters for a while and doing a little walking on his own but not much. However on Wed of last week he just started getting up and walking everywhere! He no longer crawls to get things... why crawl when you can walk and get there much faster! :) I really did not think he would start this early.... I should of guessed though since he was never the type of baby that just likes to hang out... he was always movin around and wanting to be in the center of the action. It just goes to show you that this little boy is an explorer and is going to love being active and on the go! I took some pictures of him walking however it was hard to capture how cute it is to see him walk... I am going to put a video and some more (better) pictures on here this week. My baby is growing up so fast!!!!!! :)

Our weekend with my sis

This weekend we went to my visit my sister and brother in law. We had a great time hanging out together! On Saturday we went to the Southern Living house that they have there. You can go inside and get some good ideas for decorating your own house. It was fun to go and see. Brody had a good time and enjoyed walking around the back yard. He is walking more and more each day! We then had a picnic lunch in a park near the house.

Amy got Brody this cool bubble machine that we had to try out and it was a lot of fun! Brody was not to sure what to think about it at first but then he got the idea and enjoyed popping the bubbles. It was fun to see Brody and Laney (their dog) interact with each other. When we first got there Brody was not to sure about her and did not really like her being around him. But towards the end of the weekend he got more used to her and started going up to her and petting her. It did not take Laney long to figure out that the best place to be was under Brody's high chair at meal times! I loved it because she would eat everything on the floor and I did not have to sweep it up!!

While we were there Ja came down with a stomach virus that Brody and I had before we left. :( That was no fun! Luckily it was just a 24 hour bug, but for that 24 hours you just felt terrible! So we stayed an extra night then we had planned so that he could get to feeling better.

Even though he was sick we still had a great time and enjoyed going shopping and eating all the yummy food that Amy made! (She is a great cook!!) Thanks for everything Amy, Eric, and Laney!

** On a side note..... I just wanted to wish Ja a happy first day at his new job! Last week he said good by to Walmart for good! He had worked there for 10 years and felt that it was time to go somewhere else! So today he started his new job and was very excited yet a little nervous. I know he is going to be a great store manager and enjoy working for this company! Congratulations on your new job babe!

10 Months old!

Today is Brody's 10 month Birthday! So we decided to take him to a putting green (that Ja frequently visits) to let him crawl around and chase after his favorite thing..... a ball! If you know Brody at all you know that above anything else his favorite toy is a ball. It does not matter what size or if it makes noise when you shake it... if it is round and rolls he loves it! One day I was giving him blueberries for lunch (don't worry I was sitting right there and they were very small, so they would not choke him) ..... he picked one up and said baaaal. I would say that baaaal is Brody's first word. He picks a ball up and says baaal, he points to a ball and says baaal. We will have to get that on video because it is very cute! He will pick it up and throw it so that it will bounce and then go after it and do it again. When I am trying to get him interested in any other toy I have to hide all of the balls that we have so he will play with other toys. I guess he is all boy! :)

-What a difference a month makes! He is now able to stand up on his own with out having to pull up on something. After he does that he will take maybe one or two steps but then he will realize that he can get there by crawling. So we know it will not be much longer before he is off and walking everywhere.

-He can now give us kisses which just melt your heart!!!! If we ask him to give us a kiss he will turn his head give us this look like... ok mom but after I give you a kiss I am going to go play with my ball again. :) I think it is the cutest thing ever when he kisses you on the cheek!

-He has four top teeth and two bottom teeth and uses those teeth to eat anything! He is now eating basically the same food that we eat! I no longer cook for two... I cook for three! He may not look that big but he can put it away! He can eat a whole grilled turkey and cheese sandwich plus fruit! He is not the fastest eater in the world... sometimes we are eating lunch for an hour! But that is ok because he likes to feed himself... nothing wrong with a little independence. :)

-At this point he is not one bit interested in the TV. One day I decided to get out a baby Einstein video about sign language... did I really think that he was going to sit and watch it?!!? Brody!?!? Yeah right! That is fine by me, I do not want him to watch TV! I am sure that one day when he is a teenager I will have to tell him to get off the couch, go outside and play ball! :) If he is anything like he is now when he gets older, that day will never come. :) I am sure that this little guy will be very active and enjoy playing any and every sport, like his daddy. :)

We love you Brody Ja, we love that you are active and a ball full of energy!

Austin

We went to Austin to visit Ja's sister .. Heather. We had a great time and enjoyed everthing we did. We went to two different outlet malls and shopped until we dropped! The guys went and played golf, we went to many great restaurants and enjoyed some good food, we were able to go to church with Heather and Drew (which was very good and we enjoyed very much! It is not ever day that you get to worship at church with Chris Tomlin... who is their worship leader), we got to go see the bats of Austin and enjoyed playing games and spending time with our family!
