Kaylee is 2 1/2 weeks old! Wow time has flown by! Seems like just yesterday we were getting ready to go to the hospital. She is so much fun and we are really enjoying getting to know her. It is interesting to see all the differences between her and Brody when he was her age. Even at two weeks old they have individual personalities. She is definitely getting bigger and looking more like a baby, rather then a newborn. She still has a lot of hair, but I think it is thinning out a little bit, although it still stands straight up!! :)
It has almost been a week since Marmee went back home and since we have been on our own with two kids!! She was a huge help to us and we really miss her around here! Now the real fun has begun! :) We want to thank her for everything she did for us and for all the wonderful meals she made! I know Brody is going to miss having her and Pops around!
Marmee with Kaylee

One of Brody's new favorite things to do is play haircut with his tools!!! Yes that is right, he likes to cut your hair with his tools! Here Pop's is getting a hair cut from Brody. :) He likes to imitate the lady that gives him his hair cut. She will always give him a sucker, so he always gives his customers "suckers". I love how he is now pretend playing and using his imagination!

Here Marmee is getting her hair cut with his drill!! These pictures are going to be pretty funny to show him when he is older! :)

1 week old!

Kaylee Jo at one week old!
You can tell in this picture that Brody is having a really good time with his sister in his bed. He wanted to say goodnight to her and I put her in his bed with him and he thought that was so cool! He then wanted her to sleep in there! We are so proud of how he is acting with her, he really is being a good big brother. He will tell us when she is awake or asleep and help me change her diaper.
Wow it has been a week since Kaylee has come into our family and it seems like the week has flown by! We are all doing good and enjoying being a family of four. Here is one of the many attempts at getting a good family photo. :) It is VERY hard to get a newborn baby and a toddler to all look at the camera and smile at the same time. :) We had many where Kaylee was positioned right but Brody was not, so I picked one where at least he is looking at the camera although Kaylee is not it is still a good picture. :)

Aunt Amy had to go back home. She was a huge help and we were so glad she was able to come! Brody really enjoyed playing with her. It has to be hard on a two year old to have a new baby come home from the hospital and for the two year old not to have all the attention any more. So we were glad Amy was here to help Brody get some attention and to learn how to be a good big brother! I am also glad she was here to meet Kaylee and we can't wait to meet our nephew that will be coming in a few short months!!!

Play House Disney
Here are some pics of when Brody got to go to Play House Disney. He really had a good time and came home talking all about it. I was told that he sat their and stared the whole time, just taking everything in! How cool that must be for a two year old to see the characters that he watches on TV in person!

You can see he is intently watching the show.

Since Kaylee came a little earlier than we expected I was not able to go with them, so Aunt Amy went and helped Ja with Brody. They all had a great time!

Brody showing Kaylee his cars. It was very cute because he was telling her all about his cars and what their names were and she was just looking at him wide eyed! So cute!

Kaylee Jo is Here!

Kaylee Jo arrived at 1:28pm on Feb 12, 2009. She weighed 7lb 5 oz and was 18 inches long!!

I went in to be induced and before we knew it Kaylee was ready to come! She was here faster then I ever thought and is just perfect! The labor and delivery went much smoother than with Brody and for that I am very grateful!

Here she is right after her grand entrance in her daddy's arms. I love how she is just looking at him and is probably thinking... "Hey I know you. I have heard your voice before!" :)

Marmee and Aunt Amy were back in the delivery room with Ja and I. Here Marmee is checking Kaylee out with Ja.

Aunt Amy looking at her. I was so glad that Amy was able to be there for her birth as well! She is staying with us this week and has been a big help for me and Ja! I know Brody has really enjoyed having her around!

Brody was up at the hospital when she was born. Here he is getting to see his sister for the first time while she was getting all cleaned off. I think his face is so funny here! I wonder what his little brain was thinking here. I was told that he kept pointing to her and saying that that was his little sister. :) At the hospital he was not to sure of things, but overall he did really good for everything being different and his schedule being all messed up. I think he had a hard time realizing that she was what was in my tummy. :)

Here Pops is holding her in her Valentine's Day blanket and hat that the hospital gave her right after she was born. She was a little cold after she was born and she had a hard time warming up and getting her temperature up to normal. So the nurse put her under some warming lights. After she warmed up and had a steady temperature the nurse felt that she needed a little something special, so she gave these to her a little early. :)

Jason's family was able to come and visit us right after she was born. Nanna, Papa, Holly, and Lilly were at the hospital in the waiting room playing with Brody and waiting on Kaylee to arrive. Ja and I want to thank them so much for playing with Brody and making him feel like a special big brother!
Kaylee with her daddy. Of course I had to put a bow in her hair when she was only a couple hours old! :) She was born with a full head of hair and it is much darker then Brody's was when he was born. So it will be interesting to see what color it turns out to be.

Kaylee and I resting in the hospital, we were both a little tired. :)

Here she is in her going home outfit! I just love it and think she looks so pretty! We were all excited to be going home and taking our baby girl with us!
Happy Valentine's Day! Here she is in her Valentine's Day outfit looking so cute and comfortable! You can really see her full head of hair here.

Kaylee gave Brody a big brother gift. It is a house for all of his trains and he loved it! This was the first time that he gave her a kiss and really took some interest in her. He has done so good with her since we have been home. He always tells us if she is waking up or goes and gets us something for her if we need it. I think he is going to be a great big brother!

So sweet!

Counting down the days!

Yeah not that many days left until the arrival of our baby girl! We are so excited to meet her and see what she looks like! I remember not really knowing what Brody was going to look like and how the labor and delivery were going to go. Now I wonder if she is going to look like him and if things are going to be different or the same when I deliver her. Everyone says that each birth is different, so that will be interesting to see how it goes! Brody came out with his hand by his face, and I have already had a good talking to her about not following in her brothers foot steps on that one!! :)
I think I have cleaned everything I possibly can, in fact I started cleaning so early that now there is already dust on the dressers so I have to go back and do it again! I think I have mopped the floor twice already and after every meal am very careful to pick up every little crumb that was dropped! :) I know it sounds silly but I really want the house to be clean when we come home from the hospital! :)
I think Brody knows something big is going to happen soon, but just does not realize how much it is going to change our lives. We have definitely gotten into a good routinue around here and I have tried to enjoy it as much as I can because I know things are going to change very quickly when she comes home! :)
I am definitely carrying her all in front and it looks like I have stuffed a bowling ball in my shirt! :) I thought the picture below was funny looking because she is just pointing out there. :)
We can't wait to meet our little girl and share her name with everyone! It has been kind of exciting not telling the name and keeping it a secret until she is born! We pray that everything in labor goes good and that she is a healthy baby girl!

Trip to the Park and Our Shower

We had some really nice weather over the weekend, so Brody and I decided to go to the park! It was nice to be outside and made us both ready for spring! He is growing up so fast and doing some really funny things and some typical 2 year old things now. :) I really like how I can now carry on a full conversation with him.
Here is one we had the other day:
Brody: Mommy is my baby sister still in your tummy?
Me: Yes she is.
Brody: (talking to my stomach, with his hand on it) Hi baby sister! She is moving?
Me: Yes she is, she likes it when you talk to her because you are her big brother.
Brody: Does she like to color with markers?
Me: I don't think she can color with markers yet, why?
Brody: Because she has colored on your tummy mommy!
Me: Laughing because he was talking about the stretch marks on my stomach that are a result of 2 pregnancies! :)
We have now mastered wearing big boy pants out in public and have tackled those nasty public bathrooms! At first I was not sure how to put him on the potty because his little bottom would fall right off. We had a travel potty top that was supposed to fit on any potty and work great, however it does not so don't waste your money! In fact it fell in one of the toilets that we were trying to use which was not fun and as a result Brody did not want to use the potty at all because he almost fell in. So after having my sister question some of her friends (that have older kids) I found out one way is to put them on there sideways. So here I am in the bathroom at Target with a child that does not want to use the bathroom, however he really needs to go. I am putting toilet paper on the stool (because if you don't I just think it is gross!!!) And then bribing my child to sit on there and go pee pee with being able to go and look in the toy section. (I did not say buy anything, I just said look!) :) It worked and he finally went and all was well! 10 min later when we were all the way at the back of the store, he had to go again! I thought to myself welcome to the life of no diapers anymore! So needless to say we had two successful trips to the bathroom at Target and I was very proud of him for going!
Some pics of him at the park-

As you can tell he had a blast!!

My baby shower-
Some friends from church gave us a baby shower for our little girl! We are so thankful to them for all the wonderful pink things they gave us!!! Now she will not have to use anything blue! :) We had a lot of fun eating and playing games! It was nice to be able to get out and celebrate this little girl with some good friends!

Julia and me. She is Jasmine's mom and has a new baby Jocelyn. It has been great having her as a friend and swapping mom stories and getting good ideas from each other! Our children are going to see the Live Play House Disney together which I know will be great fun for them!
Candice and Julie. They were also hostesses and great friends! I was not able to get pictures of the rest of the girls that were there because I forgot to take them! I know... me who always takes pictures! We want to thank everyone that was there! They have all been a big support group when we needed prayer for our baby and encouraging me through this pregnancy!

Let it snow!

Well there is not a whole lot going on here, except for staying warm and playing in the snow! Last year Brody did not really like the snow or how cold and wet it was. This year he really liked it and enjoyed being outside.

He wanted Teddy to come and play with him outside, I had to explain to him that we could not get him wet, so I held him while we were out there.

We had a lot of fun outside the last couple of days, but I am very glad the snow is melting!

I think this picture is so cute! Brody looks so old here! He looks like he is going to be a big brother here. Everyone says that he will look even older when the baby comes, and I can see that!

Our Week

We have not been very busy this week, just trying to get some things done and have fun outside while the weather was nice. Brody also got to go and play with Jasmine at her house! They are so cute together and have a lot of fun playing together.

Here they are coloring with some of Jasmine's markers, they would run up and down the hall way and in their kitchen chasing each other. :) They also played hide and seek.... which they are not very good at because when one would say "ready or not here I come", the other would say "here I am", and give away their hiding spot. :)

Playing a fishing game of Jasmine's

We got to go outside and practice riding Brody's bike. He is still not very good at using the pedals and wants to use his feet to get places instead. This is something that we are going to have to work on in the spring. He is doing very good at his potty training and we are making a lot of progress to getting out of diapers! We are so proud of him and try to make new things that he does very special for him so that he knows it is a big deal! :)

I am now 36 weeks. It is crazy to me at how low she is! I carried Brody much higher than her and he never really dropped. However she is very low which makes it very hard to sit down without my comfy pants on. :) I am pretty much in them all day, unless we are going somewhere and then right when I get home I change back into them. :) I am feeling good except for not getting much sleep at night and for starting to feel sick again in the morning. We are definitely getting ready for her to come and can't believe she will be here in less then a month! I am now going to the doctor every week, which makes me realize that soon this little girl is going to come!!

Fun with Daddy!!

Well, this is Jason and I thought I would make a post today. Brody and I had a guys day today and it was very fun! We decided to stay home while Mommy went and did some shopping for herself and by herself. I know that she really enjoyed it and so did we. Here are a few pics from the day.

The picture above is of Brody being a firefighter. He is chasing the fire that we have in the living room(not a real fire don't worry). I couldn't believe that he actually kept the goggles and headphones on.

This picture is of Brody on the Brody Express!! He really enjoyed this today. We made a really big train with pillows, in fact most of the pillows from the house and then we went and picked up all his stuffed animals one by one and they boarded the Brody Express!! He loves using his imagination and so this was really fun for him and me. I usually set near the back cause of course he wanted to drive.

Another picture from the caboose of the train!! As you can see we had almost every animal on the train and it was a full load!! It was a good day off for me to be able to stay home with Brody and to play all day. I know that he had alot of fun and I did too.

Family Fun!

Here is a pic of Ja and Brody right before we went over and had a watch party at Ja's parents house for the OU game. Although we did not win I had to put these pictures up because I think they are so cute of Brody smiling at the camera.
I am now 34 weeks along and we are really getting ready for our little girl to join us!

Our friends Jason, Julia, Jasmine and Jocelyn asked us to go to Chucky Cheese with them! It was so much fun and the kids had a blast playing all the games! Brody really loved the cars and enjoyed driving them. It really did not matter if they were moving or not he just wanted to drive them.

Brody and Jasmine playing ski ball. I think the dad's have more fun on this game than the kids! :) Brody and Jasmine's ball would not get very far and would just keep coming back down for them to throw again. So the dad's would throw the balls in the holes to win them some tickets. :) We all had a great time and can't wait to go again with them!

No this is not our little girl, and no Brody is not playing with baby dolls! I have heard that it is a good idea to get out a baby doll and practice with your toddler on how to treat the baby when they are born. We practiced being very gentle with her, I showed him how I was going to swaddle her and burp her, and then let Brody practice holding her. We talked about how we should not hit the baby or poke them in the eye. So hopefully it will help when she comes. :) Many people have asked if Brody understands that we are going to have another baby. I think he does, but I don't think he understands how his world is going to change. :) He knows she is in my stomach and has felt her really moving around in there! When he feels her he cracks up at how much she is moving! :) Tonight before bed he asked if he could give his sister a kiss and a hug, so he kissed and hugged my stomach. How cute!
