Family and Birthday celebrations!

This past week was a really crazy yet fun week for us! We went to two of Brody's friends birthday parties and my sister and nephew came in town for a while to hang out and go shop at a huge consignment sale with me! We had a great time together and enjoyed letting the kids play together and hang out during the day! It was fun!!
What a little cutie!! It was fun for Kaylee and I to have some company while Brody was at preschool.
I pulled out some of Brody's cars for Drew to play with. He is really into playing with anything that is a ball! What a fun stage! He can even push the ball back to you if you roll it to him on the ground! So cute!
We took Drew to eat at Chick fa La and then to the mall to ride the carosuel. I think he really liked it! Then we had to make a quick stop into one of Brody's favorite stores in the mall.... the Disney store! :)

Marmee took the day off and got to come with us! We all had a great time together! My sister and I went to a huge consignment sale and found lots of good treasures for the kiddos! It was fun going with her and sharing the fun experience with her. :)

Brody got to go to a friends Birthday Party! And you can tell he had a great time! I went with him while Ja and Kaylee stayed home and we both had a blast! Brody did not want to go down this slide at first until he saw some other kids in his class doing it. So we both went together and it was a lot of fun! He then went by himself several times and loved it!! :)

It was so cute to see him interact with some of his school friends. they would all follow each other and do what the other one was doing. :)

We also got to celebrate with Addison for her Birthday! It was at a different blow up place and both kids had a great time! At first Kaylee was not too sure about it but she warmed up a little bit after awhile. Brody on the other hand was having a blast!

I think this is such a cute pic of Brody's friend Jasmine!!

The Birthday girl wearing her new princess crown and sunglasses that she got for her Birthday. Happy Birthday Addison thanks for inviting us to your party!!

Happy Valentines Day!

For Valentines Day this year I decided to make Heart Crayons with Brody. This was a fun project for us to do together and something fun other than candy for him to give his friends at school. I think they turned out really cool and will be doing this again!!

First you have to peal lots and lots of crayons. This is probably the hardest part of it all. Brody helped me with some but got bored with it quickly so I finished the rest while watching Idol. Here is a tip- if you buy the Big crayons then you will not have to unwrap that many small ones. :) However I found that you do need some small crayons because they offer some fun colors which make it look pretty when it is all done.

Next you buy a silicone (that part is VERY important) heart shaped pan. Since it is flimsy it is much easier to get the crayon out when it has cooled down!! Then you break up some different color of crayons and have fun combining different colors. Brody liked breaking the crayons and putting them in the pan.

Next you put them in your oven and melt them. When they are all melted you take them out of the oven and let them cool down. I put mine in the fridge to get them to cool down faster. If you take them out before they are all the way cooled down your heart will break and not really turn out good.

Then when it is all cool you peel them out of the pan and look at how cool they turned out!! Brody thought this was really fun and it is fun for them to color with because there are many different colors all in one crayon.

Here he is showing off his work!

He then took them to his Valentines Day Party at school and was so proud of them as he handed them out to all of his friends. :)

Kaylee and I went up to his class party and had a fun time icing cookies with him and watching him hand out his Valentine cards/crayons to all his friends. He always loves it when Kaylee and I are going to be there!!

This little lady was so good while we were there! I was smart this time and took her snack trap for her to eat a snack while Brody and his friends were eating a snack. Last time we had to steal food off of his plate. :)
Hope everyone had a great Valentines Day!!

Happy Birthday Kaylee!!

We celebrated Kaylee's Birthday again on her actual Birthday. Growing up and still to this day Birthdays are a big deal in our family. We always got to choose what we wanted to have for dinner on our special day and what kind of dessert we wanted. It was and still is fun to celebrate your Birthday on your Birthday! So we celebrated Kaylee's big day by going to Hideaway pizza (one of Kaylee's and Brody's favorite things!!) with my parents. This girl can put away a whole piece of pizza, oranges, and some cheerios all in one sitting! :) Then we went back to our house for another try at the cake and Kaylee's presents from us.

Kaylee got this great table from my parents! We love it and know that there will be many tea parties held at this table!! :)

Her first car!! I had been wanting one of these for the kids for awhile and when I found one at a consignment sale I just had to get it for this little girls Birthday! I think both of the kids are going to love it this spring and summer!! :)

Since she loves her baby dolls we just had to get her a cradel for them to sleep in and a new baby doll. :)

The face just says it all!!
Kaylee- "Umm why are they making me try this again I thought I let them know I did not like it."

Kaylee- "Oh are you serious!"
Kaylee- "I still don't want it!"

Kaylee- "Just give me my baby doll and paci and let it go!"
We thought it was funny that she still did not want to try the cake. Oh well no loss eat your veggies and fruit as long as you want girl!! :)

Every time we go to the mall and pass by the carousal both kids just love looking at it and want to ride it. So we thought it would be a fun treat for Kaylee's birthday to take them to ride on it. They had fun and enjoyed the experience!

Ja and Brody
Even though she does not look like she is having a good time she did! She was taking it all in during the ride and loved looking at everything as it went by.

At one year old or 12 months- Kaylee is now talking a lot more and saying more and more words that we can understand. During her birthday celebration she learned how to say balloon and was fascinated with them! She says dada, bro (for Brody), duck, horse, bye bye, doll, moo, dog, and she finally said mama! She is now doing a lot of signs such as, more, night night, all done, eat, mama, bye bye, clean up, and change. I am teaching her help, work, and school. She will let us know what she wants by pointing to it. When she was sick she did not want to do much walking. All she really wanted to do was be held. Now that she is feeling better she is much more active and interested in walking and playing. It is nice to have our Kaylee back!! She is learning more and more each day we are so excited to see all that she is going to learn in the next year! We love you little Birthday girl!

Kaylee's 1st Birthday Party

We had Kaylee's Birthday party this past weekend. We had the party at a community center in town and it worked out great! This little girl was so cute in her party dress!! It is hard to believe that she is going to turn 1 this week and that we were there celebrating her birthday!

Here is our family photo at her party!

This past week Kaylee has not been feeling too good and we found after taking her to the doctor that she has Bronchitis. Poor little girl!! So even though she was on the mend she still was not feeling 100% at her party. We had a hard time getting her to smile! Here I am trying to get her to loosen up, however she was not too sure about everyone paying attention to her!

Eric, Amy and Drew were able to come for the weekend to celebrate with us! We were so glad they could come and join us on Kaylee's special day. If you do not follow my sisters blog Drew is wearing a helmet to help round out his head. As a baby he favored one side, so the helmet is helping round it out.

Brody was such a good boy at the party and really enjoyed sitting behind this table because there were so many treats on it that he got to enjoy! :)

We are singing Happy Birthday to her here. She did not know what to think about it, but we got some smiles out of her! Because we had her party in a big room, we had to be creative in our decorations to make this party fun and special. So we got some balloons, had some fun table decorations, and made a really cool sign to hang up! When we got it all together it turned out great!

Since Brody helped me make the cake for her party he was so excited to be able to try a peace of it! Here he is smelling it (don't worry he is not actually touching it with his mouth). I made a white cake with strawberry icing. To make it a little more fun Brody and I colored the cake and some of the icing. I think it turned out really cute and went with the theme of the party. :)

Kaylee got a lot of fun Birthday presents! She loves them all and we thank everyone who came!!

Towards the end of opening presents she started to get into it and figured out that all the things she was opening were for her!! :)

We put her on the ground to eat her cake and she was not too sure about what to do........

Once she tasted how sweet the cake was and a little got on her hands it was over! She did not want to eat anymore and she was letting us know that it was her party and she could cry if she wanted too!! :) -- So we will try again on her Birthday and see if she will eat any then.

Drew loved touching Brody's hair! He thought it felt so funny! Brody was nice enough to let him be entertained with his hair while he was entertained with one of Kaylee's new Birthday gifts. :)

My grandparents that live in town were able to come to the party and we were so excited that they were there!!

Since we had a big room this little toy was a hit with the kids! They got to drive it all around the room! Here Lilly is driving it and having a good time!

Even Traber got in on the action. I see many cars in his future!! :)

Here Grandma is showing Kaylee a balloon. Who needs toys just get this girl some balloons!! :)

Here she is again playing with a balloon on Marmee's lap.

We are so blessed to have this little lady in our lives and we had so much fun celebrating her 1st year of life at her Birthday Party. We love you Kaylee Jo!

Snow fun!!

Well we had some great snow to play in! It was the kind of snow that you could fall down in and not feel anything! So needless to say Brody had a blast playing in it! Which we were a little surprised since he has not normally enjoyed playing in it. With the way we are getting snow this year I think that next year I am going to have to invest in some snow boots and good snow gloves for the kids! This year we tied plastic bags around his shoes! However it worked really good and his feet did not get wet! :)

Ja and Brody tried to make a snow man but the snow was not really wet enough to make a good one so what do they do......
They decide to play tackle in the snow. They rolled down our little hill in the back yard and had a snow ball fight. I am so glad Ja was home this day because I don't think I could of done all those things with Brody!! :)

Here Brody was having a great time getting Daddy. :)

When Kaylee woke up from her nap we took her outside for just a second since she has had a little cold.

Once her hand touched the snow it was over and time to go inside! :)

Lilly came over to play yesterday and the kids had a great time with each other! Brody and Lilly got to stir some snow in mixing bowls. We then put all kinds of fun things in there to see what it did to the snow. Brody's favorite was the sprinkles and hot chocolate mix we put in there. I was surprised he wanted to try it! Lilly had a great time mixing it and watching Brody be silly. After that she walked all around the house saying that Brody was silly!! :) We can't wait for Lilly to come over again and play!!
