Fun Play Dates and American Idol

We were able to go to a fun park with Ja's sister Holly and our niece Lilly. Brody had a lot of fun running around and playing on all the fun things they had there. Brody and Lilly are just now getting to the age were they are interested in one another. It is fun to watch them interact with each other. Brody is taking Lilly on a ride in the pic above and Lilly is telling him where she wants to go. :)

Brody is a little obsessed with trains. He loves all the Thomas the Train stuff and pretends that anything and everything is a train! He will go around the house making a train sound and horn, he will sell tickets for a train ride on his train (that is really his bed)! So you can imagine his excitement at this park that has a train that he can play on! We went here with some friends from our play group and he loved it!

Brody has enjoyed watching American Idol with us this season. He is so funny when we watch it. He always asks us who our favorites are and tells us his. :) Then he goes and gets his microphone, guitar, or keyboard out and plays them. :) Here he is in his PJ's and singing like Danny. :) What a funny little boy!

Kaylee is 2 months old!!!

Wow I can not believe that it has already been 2 months since she was born! She is growing and changing so fast! She is now 11 lbs and 14 oz. So she is a big girl. :) It really does not suprise me since Brody was the same way. What can I say, they like to eat! :) She is such a good baby and very laid back. She is starting to smile a lot and likes to practice talking to us. She will study my mouth and try to move hers the same way, you can just see the wheels turning in her head! :) She still spits up a lot, but it has gotten a little better over the last few weeks. She is now sleeping at night from 9:00 pm until 3:30am without waking up!! We are thrilled about that!!

Kaylee loves her big brother and is starting to notice him more. He also loves playing with her and giving her kisses!

She is getting so much better at her head control. She still does not like her tummy time, but we make her do it anyways. :) We have put her in her bumbo seat some and she seems to like that. She likes to look at Brody that way, and he enjoys seeing her sit up and looking at him.
We can't believe that two months has already gone by, but at the same time it we can't really remember what life was like without her! :)

So what do you do with the Easter eggs that you dyed?? Well some people would eat them or make develed eggs out of them, but I do not like those. So Brody and I peeled them, and smashed them in our hands. He had a great time!!

We went to a wedding this past weekend and had the opportunity to see some old friends. It was great seeing everyone and catching up. We also got a chance to take a family picture which I love! This is the best one that we have had since Kaylee was born!

Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter, and had lots of fun doing things that I had not done since I was a kid, like coloring Easter eggs, hiding and finding them, and seeing what the Easter bunny put in the baskets. Brody had a great time coloring the eggs!! He loved it, and set their for about an hour dying eggs. He really enjoyed seeing what color the eggs were going to be. It was a lot of fun!!

The Easter bunny came to our house and gave the kids some fun presents. Brody loved the trains that he brought him and has played with them non stop since he got them!

Daddy and his little girl on Easter morning. I have always loved dressing Brody and tried to pick out some cute clothes for him. However it is not the same as dressing a little girl!! She got all dolled up in her Easter dress and if I do say so myself so looked so cute! :)

We went to Marmee and Pop's house after church for lunch. Brody and Kaylee enjoyed looking for Easter eggs over there.

We went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house later that day and enjoyed spending time with Ja's family!

Brody and Lilly had a great time playing together! Brody showed Lilly how to play with trains and she loved it!! Brody thought it was fun that she was playing with them. They are going to have so much fun together! We can't wait for all the other cousins to join us so that they can join in on the fun as well. We want to say congratulations to Heather and Drew, and Jeremy and Brandy!! They are both expecting and we can't wait for their little ones to arrive!! Brody, Lilly, and Kaylee are going to have lots to teach them!

Aunt Amy's and Uncle Eric's

I thought this picture of Kaylee was so cute! She is getting so big and will be 2 months old on Easter! I can't believe it! This past weekend we went to my sisters house. It was her first long car ride and she did great! She slept the whole way there and only woke up to eat once! We could not believe it!! So far she is a go with the flow kind of girl, we will see how long that last! :) She also did really good while we were there and enjoyed meeting her Uncle Eric for the first time and seeing Aunt Amy again! I was so glad that we were able to come to one of Amy's baby showers while we were there. It was great being able to be there and celebrate with her! She got lots of great stuff and we had a good time going through it all when we got home. I also enjoyed being able to meet some of her friends!! :)

Brody and Aunt Amy made some very fun Easter cookies. They are called birds nest cookies. He had a really fun time making them with her and trying all the ingredients as they put it in.

We went miniature golfing while we were there. Brody had a blast playing golf and climbing on the rocks they had there.

Kaylee kind of missed out on all the fun, but that was ok with me!! She slept the whole time and did not even realize where we were or what we were doing. :) Crazy how much they sleep at this age!!

We had a great time while we were there and enjoyed hanging out with our family. Can't believe that next time we see Amy and Eric little Drew will be here!!! We are so excited for them and can't wait to meet little Drew!!!

One Busy Weekend...

This past weekend was a very fun and busy one. Aunt Heather and Uncle Drew came into town! As you can tell from the pic, Brody thought it was time to give Drew a hair cut! It is so funny how he uses his tools to give people hair cuts! Thanks to our family for sitting in those small chairs and letting Brody run his tools all over your hair! He really gets a kick out of it! This was Heather and Drew's first time to see Kaylee and we were so glad they came into town to visit!


We had some major snow here! It was the kind of snow that is great for building a snow man, or whatever this was that they built! Brody of course named this snowman Thomas (for Thomas the train) and enjoyed watching it melt over the next few days. He was so glad that his Uncles were their to play with him!!

We were able to celebrate Lilly's first Birthday over the weekend!! We are so excited that she is turning one and can not believe that it has been a year already since she was born! We have enjoyed watching you grow and change over this past year Lilly! Happy Birthday!

A busy week.....

I think this is a cute picture of Brody and Kaylee. Brody is so gentle with her and tries to make her happy when she is not. Here he is talking to her and letting her sit on his bean bag chair.
I had the hardest time getting Brody to look at the camera when he was a baby, and still do! However I can get Kaylee to look right at it, and in turn get some pretty good pics of her. :) We had a good time this last week with each set of my grandparents. Here Kaylee is looking at Gammy and enjoying being rocked by her.

We took Kaylee over to meet my Aunt Cindy when she was in town. I am so glad we got to go over there and let Cindy hold her while she is still little, because this girl is growing fast! She already weighs 10 pounds! It was great being able to see you Cindy! I know Brody was glad as well, that is all he talked about on the way home!

Kaylee also got to meet my other Grandparents. Mimi and Micaw came in town and got to see her for the first time! They also got to see how much Brody is changing and getting so big! They really noticed how much they could understand him better this time and how he is now talking in full sentences! He really liked having them here and chasing around their dog, Reggie!

We were able to go to Bass Pro, one of Brody's favorite places to go! We call it his indoor play ground! He could drive the boats all day long if we would let him. If you have a boy I highly recommend you taking them their, because they will love it! Here Micaw is driving with Brody.

We had a great time with all of our family and are so glad that Kaylee got to meet all of them!

After a busy week......

Walmart, 1 month old, and family photo!

This week I had the wonderful opportunity to take both of our children on a Walmart run! I was so excited... Not! First I wondered how we were ever going to get out the door! I like to get to Walmart early so it does not interfere with Brody's lunch time, however this was not going to be the case this time! So good thing Walmart has a McDonald's inside, so after we shopped we ran in there for a bite to eat. Overall the experience was great because Kaylee slept the whole time!! Can't get much better then that! However I do have a question for all the people that have two or more children.... where do you put your food??!! My two year old is not old enough to walk beside me, so that leaves him in the back with all the food. I guess I will have to change the time when I go to Walmart to when Ja is home with them. Which lets face it that is not a bad idea!!!! :)

Brody is doing so good with Kaylee!! He keeps saying, " She is getting so big, when she gets bigger she will play with me!" So cute! If he does not know where she is he always asks and likes to go check on her to see if she is ok. :) In this picture you can see him entertaining her with his wonderful piano skills! I think it is cute because she is looking right at him!

Kaylee is now 1 month old!! I can't believe how much she has changed in a month! She is definitely teaching us how to know what she needs and when she needs it! She has a very sensitive stomach and I have to really watch what I eat, so that it does not affect her! You can almost count on her spiting up after you feed her! We have burped her for 30 min. and think we have gotten it all out, and then you lay her down and out comes the spit up! Needless to say we get to try on many outfits a day!

Now that the announcements have been sent out to our family's, then I can put these pictures on here so our friends can see them. These pic's were taken of Kaylee when she was only a week old. It is amazing how much she has changed since then! My sister helped take these pic's and we had a fun time picking out her outfit and bows for these pictures! :) You can see how much Brody and Kaylee look alike, yet how much they are different by comparing the camo picture to the right of Brody and this pciture of Kaylee. They are both taken at about the same age.
